I am so thrilled that Cultural Expression is next week, the myraid of dances and the symbol of celebration, of course, the elderly who are joining us to celebrate National Day @ Westwood Secondary School, Cultural Expression 2008!

It is such a disappointment that not much of our classmate took part in NYAA silver folkdancing, it's real fun, not just the endolphins were released, it also help us to relax, alot!

Ammirah had suggested Class T-shirt and the proposal has been accepted by Mr Kumar, our class Tee would prolley be done... by next week? Hopefully, so that you kids could wear them on National Day!

I am so glad that the learning fest is over, we now could get back to the normal lessons! Isn't that great? We won't lose any lessons!

Was the learning fest great? I doubt so, I hoped that you would bring back some of the lessons you learn back to your life, hopefully, you would succeed that skills you had choosen!

Now, its time to rewind into study, we should start to concentrate on the text! Hopefully, everyone will be promoted to 4NA! :)

I had just done a dj session, it didnt turn out great because not much of us was there, hopefully, the next time I dj, more people will be there!

And finally, a good semester has past, it is time to wrap up the box of memories, bickerings and laughters, to indulge in the exotic holidays, but, before you enter's the realm of furlough and relaxation, you had to keep your class room clean!

Anyhow, you are still important to help us to clean the tip and toe of the class room, each hard work still pays off, why not do the last fullstop before leaving to the break?

For tomorrow's Operational Clean Up, please wear your PE attire but you will have your lessons up till 11.30 AM and your cleaning starts then.

Should you ran off for tomorrow's clean up, you shall face disciplinary action by the discipline committee, so, clean the dust and let the class blink!

2. Salmon Cooking Competition

COMPETITION GUIDELINES FOR STUDENTS
SCHOOL OF SALMON (IN-HOUSE SCHOOL COMPETITION) &
THE GREAT NORWEGIAN SALMON COOKOUT (NATIONAL COOKING COMPETITION)

Objectives

To educate students about salmon, how to buy, prepare, storeand cook it healthily. Students will also appreciate the nutritional and health benefits of salmon.
To motivate students to create attractive, tasty and nutritious and easy-to-prepare dishes using Norwegian Salmon.
To encourage students to take charge of preparing healthy foods for themselves, their familys and friends.

Rules and Regulations

All participants will form teams of 2 to enter the contest.
Registered teams are not allowed to withdraw rom this competition but replacement of team members is allowed. All registered teams must participate in the In-house school competition which will be held in their own schools between July 7-14, 2008. The winning team must continue to represent their school in the National Cooking Competition (if selected) on August 23, 2008 at the Raffles Girls's Secondary School.
Participants are to create an original recipe using Norwegian Salmon and submit the recipe to their own Home Economics Teacher in School by May 23, 2008.
Each recipe should serve 4 people and should take no longer than 1 hour to cook excluding preparation time.
The recipes should be quick and easy to prepare within 1 hour (excluding pre-preparation time). Ingredients, except for the salmon, can be pre-prepared (e.g. slice, cut and prepared) in advanced and brought to the venue.
Norwegian Salmon will be provided for the competition. Cost of other ingredients for the competition is to be borne by participants.
Participants will need to explain their selection of items for their dish and the nutritional benefits of the dish in the recipe template.
Dish will be judged based on the listed judging criteria.
The judges' assessment will account for 100% of the total marks. The decision of the judges will be final and will not be open to discussion.
The Norwegian Seafood Export countil reserves the right to use all recipes submitted for future materials and references.

Judging Criteria

Originality / Creativity : 20 Points
Taste / Flavour : 40 Points
Preparation & Cooking method : 20 Points
Presentation : 10 Points
Level of cooperation between team members : 10 points

Note: Using fresh and healthy ingredients, as well as healthy cooking methods will gain extra bonus points from the judges.

How do you identify if the website is scamming you or not? Basically, when you are checking out of the website to pay them, make sure that this icon is located at the address bar (Windows Vista) or the bottom of the page (Windows XP).

For your information, this logo is also known as the "VeriSign" which is recognised in many websites that allows safe payments, do not enter your information to websites that does not have "verisign" logo because you might be lured into one of the scammer's scam.

What is the safest way to pay things online? The safest and the best way is to use PayPal because PayPal does not leak out your personal information and it allows you to pay without leaking them too!

It has been a week since the Mid-year examinations are over, the tension and stress should have already vanish. Now, it's time to unwind yourself into a cup of tea and grab a book to relax in the lanai.

Well, I believe that everyone should be disappointed with their poor performance in English, but after all, you still had the chance to do well in your End-of-year examinations, which are much crucial then the current one!

Never give up! Look infront, there's a bright trail for your to walk, don't be discouraged by the little rain, because every obstacles are the platform towards success!

Anyway, 3B's Blog has been set up to both entertain you in the holidays and also allow you get a faster updates on School Issues.

So, let us dive into our very first Issue of Metropolitan!

America's Next Top Model

In the 10 season running of America's Next Top Model, it comes to the latest cycle, America's Next Top Model Cycle 10.

The competition host, Tyra Banks, Retired Super Model and Current TV Host, sets 14 beautiful ladies into an apartment in New York, with the new attitudes and new faces, the girls set off to range of eliminations.

This week, also the last week of the competition, it comes down to three girls, Fatima, Anya and Whitney.

At the final week, the girls did a Covergirl commercial and Covergirl shot, but Fatima was sent home and it comes down to two finalists, Anya and Whitney.

Similarly, the two girls headed for a once-in-a-life-time runway in exclusive clothing by Italy's super fashion designer, the two girls perfected their pace and it was time to crown the winner.

In the elimination, the judges compared all the photoshoots the two girls did.

Finally, Whitney, the full-figured model was crowned as "America's Next Top Model"

PLAN-your-PATH-right-NOW!

Are you still in the illusion of dilemma? Choices and difficulties? Dilettanteish or Scientist? I don't know!!! If these are your question, it's your solution!

So let us analyse this, at your age, you would be in Secondary Three, let's say, 15 years old, you thought that 10 years drive is still "o-damn-long", but TAKE A LOOK AT THE CLOSE SHOT!!! 1 year of studies is only 40 weeks! And now, you had already cleared about... 20 weeks? You are still left with about 20 more weeks to complete this year, maybe not, or maybe even 15 weeks? Isn't it fast?!

And soon, it would be time to clear your 'N' and 'O' levels, but after your 'N' or 'O' levels, what to do?!?! Should I go that JC? Should I go that Poly? Or should I go take that course in ITE?! Oh no!!!

Now, it's time for solution!

Situation A: SCIENCE AND MATHEMATICS
Situation A fits into most student around the clock, they tend to be excellent in their Physics and Mathematics, or even Additional Mathematics, but they hate English Language! Well, if you are those crowd of people, you would be heading for Polytechnic rather than JC, why? Because, you will have to do General Paper in JC and in the situation that you are really sucked at English, you are still heading towards Polytechnic if you fail your 'A' levels and in rare cases, people tend to fail their 'A' levels because of General Paper.

But! If you are those who are determined to study in JC, well, let's take a look at the shot!

Poly Courses:
- Chemical Engineering
- Chemical Process Engineering
- Electronics Engineering
- Civil Engineering
- Food and Sciences Techonology
- Aerospace Electronics (only avail. in SP)

JC Courses:
- Physics
- Mathematics
- A* Subjects

Situation B: POA and English
Let's analyse this, students who took POA are most likely who do better in English and Mathematics but they tend to... Hate their second languages? It's true actually. However, those who are better in POA and English should get into a Polytechnic because you are the most suitable candidate to take these courses:

- Banking and Finance
- Accounting
- Business Studies
- Business Administration
- Business Info. Tech.
- Finance Infomatics
- Tourism (Unless you are very charismatic!)

Situation C: Arts Student
Arts students are students who likes Combined Humaities and have the interest to do English Language at any stage, however, only NAFA and SP offers courses for Arts subjects such as Literature and Drama. JC is the best and the only route to for Arts Students.
